Module 11: Osteopathy future development

Family Centred Osteopathy CPD

A family-centred programme for the continued professional development for osteopaths, based in Norfolk, UK.

Module 11: Osteopathy's Future

How are we making change in health care?

Reflection of current practice stimulates a change in your approach to health and osteopathy’s role in health care.

The workshops on this programme are supervised in such a way to encourage participants to focus on fulcrums (i.e. body system function through awareness of tissues- fluid motions-fluid form) as an interface for review of your perception and palpation skills of potentials ( such as growth, health, life, death).

Integration of concepts such as intention, attention, transition, ignition and stillness is through discussion, practical sessions and cases.

The program team beleives that the future of osteopathic knowledge can be best developed with practical session which support palpatory and perceptual experiences with:

  • Human embryology knowledge and self experience,
  • Definition and languaging of palpated motions of body fluids,
  • Clinical review of cases through audit of patient experience,
  • Clinical systemic findings e.g. blood pressure with palpatory assessment of physiological changes,
  • Verbal and written description of family and fluid form models.

The family centred osteopathy pathway provides an opportunity to experience practical examples in developing family models, psycho- energetic models and bio-energetic models with body work.

15 hours CPD per module.
